COMMON THREAD MEN'S MINISTRY

"…As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another…" (Proverbs 27:17).

The First Presbyterian Church Men’s Ministry falls under the title of "Common Thread" with the idea being that while men's lives are very busy with familyk work, and activities, we all share one common thread: to grow in love and likeness to Jesus Christ.

VISION:
The "Common Thread" that unites us all is Jesus Christ and our desire to grow in our knowledge and practice of His disciplines, so that His love and His grace are most prevalent in our homes.

MISSION:
As disciples of Jesus Christ we desire to grow by studying Jesus Christ…to be held accountable by other Christ-like men…to be pruned so that we are becoming the men God wants us to be…so we are able to lead our families as God intends.

GROWTH AND TRAINING:
Common Thread offers events to stimulate growth and training including

  • Promise Keeper events
  • Weekend Seminars
  • Banquets and Festivals
  • Wednesday Advance Classes

Common Thread offers small groups to teach and answer questions, and for accountablity. Common Thread will offer opportunities for fun and fellowship to build common bonds among men of the Church and their families.

GOAL:
Our goal is to point men toward Jesus so that we are better equipped and trained to be the spiritual leaders of our families.

Community Men's Bible Study

When:

Mondays, 7:00pm—8:30pm

Where: First Presbyterian Church

Who: Join men from all backgrounds and all ages for this nondenominational fellowship around God’s Word.

What: 30-week study of Isaiah and Amos

The men are engaged with two of the most important Prophets of the Old Testament, Isaiah and Amos. This is the focus for the 30 weeks of study, September 10, 2007, through May 5, 2008, with breaks for Christmas and Easter. If you have wanted a good grasp of these prophets, here is a wonderful opportunity to study them in depth. You will find excitement in the prophecies concerning Messiah, and comfort in the prophetic words of encouragement. You will enjoy small group intimacy and large group excitement as you hear from God through this endeavor. This study is open to our community, so please invite a friend, neighbor, work associate, or relative to enjoy it with you. Look for the information in the weekly GrapeVine newsletter and brochures in the information racks.
