All living things grow. When growth stops, life has stopped. With regards to people, to quit growing means to settle for mere existence over real living. God has given us many examples in His Word describing His desire for us to grow in Him. Consider these scriptures:

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

Life newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation. 1 Peter 2:2

Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity. Hebrews 6:1
