A ministry of joy—carrying Christ to the lonely and homebound
The Pastoral Visitation Ministry exists to enlarge and extend the pastoral heart throughout the congregation of FPC. PVMs are both trained and gifted with nurturing hearts and compassionate temperaments. They visit those members of our congregation who have suffered a death or other loss, those who are alone and lonely, those who are ill and homebound, those recently discharged from the hospital, and those who face a traumatic situation. PVMs serve and report directly to our pastors, alerting them to situations that need deeper or expanded care.
Those who feel God’s calling to be a part of this ministry participate in training sessions led by our PVM Pastor Doug Gilstrap. The team meets for training and fellowship from October until May, the first Monday of every month in the Church Parlor at 5:30pm. We would be glad for you to join us!
