GROWING AS ONE

Our vision is to use our various spiritual gifts and talents to address the many and varied social, physical, and spiritual needs of the senior adults and their families of First Presbyterian Church in a manner that brings glory to the name of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to be a caring, all ages community of followers of Jesus Christ by reaching out to the senior adults of the First Pres and beyond. In this, much of the ministry will be "by" the seniors, which in itself is a part of our ministry to seniors. The ministry addresses seniors' social needs through such programs such as luncheons (The "Elderberries", and Travel Activities), visitation in both the home and residential care facilities ("FirstPAWS"), and service within and outside the church. One way we are addressing our physical needs is through a process of educational classes for various ages that touch on some of those situations and issues that are part of the transition of becoming "senior adults."

Our prayer is for the maturing of our senior adults in their faith in Jesus Christ. The family of First Presbyterian serves in the leading of worship in various care situations and in the development of prayer and Bible study groups.

Elderberries Programs

Elderberries are members and friends of First Presbyterian Church aged 50 and up. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 11:30am in Fellowship Hall to hear a relevant speaker and to eat lunch together. The program is free; lunch is $6. We’d love for you to join us!
