ACTIVITIES

We believe that Christ wants us to have and live the "abundant life." He wants us to enjoy life in an atmosphere where Christians can fellowship and make wholesome leisure choices. Our Activities Ministry is not separate from the church, but an integral part of our total. We hope that you will see our programs in their relationship to Jesus Christ and His church.

The programs listed below are just some of the many offered throughout the year. Lindsay Graham, Activities Minister, is eager to help you and your family with your recreational needs.

Sports for All Ages

Men's Basketball, Softball
Youth Basketball:
Ages K5-Grade 12 learn teamwork, discipline, and basketball skills playing on a First Pres team through Church League Basketball for Youth in Greenville. Registration occurs during August and September each year for the November-February playing season.  Pick up a form from the church literature racks.
Kids’ Baseball: Ages 3-7 can play on teams organized by Christian Sports Network Baseball for Tee Ball (3–5 year-olds) and Coaches Pitch (6–7 year-olds). Registration takes place in February. Games begin in late March and April. Pick up a form from the church literature racks.

Summer Camps for Children

We offer several week-long camps for sports and fun activities each June-July for ages K4-grade 6. Camps include Tee Ball Camp, Basketball Camp, Sports Camp, and Day Camp. Registration begins each spring.

Travel with First Pres

The Activities Ministry leads several DAY TRIPS each season. These include visits by bus to upstate restaurants, theaters, sports events, museums, lakes, and other interesting sites.

The Activities Ministry usually leads LONGER TRIPS each year to exciting national and international destinations. We currently have these trips planned:

 

The Ark Encounter and Creation Museum
March 16-18, 2017* • Depart 6:45am • Return 3:00pm, Saturday, March 18

Cost $290 (double), $350 (single), $250 (triple) includes deluxe motor coach, two nights lodging in Georgetown, KY, and admission to The Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum.
The Ark Encounter is a one-of-a-kind historically themed attraction. With an entertaining, educational, immersive approach, the Ark brings the Bible to life, presenting a number of historical events centered on a full-size, all-wood Ark, the largest timber-frame structure in the U.S.


The Answers in Genesis Creation Museum proclaims to the world that the Bible is the supreme authority. You’ll journey through a visual presentation of the history of the world based on the Seven Cs of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, Consummation.

 

The Wonders of Peru
May 15-23, 2017

Cost $3,950 (double) includes airfare and transfers, direct 7-hour flight from Atlanta, seven nights accommodations (4 star), all breakfasts, two dinners, guides, and entrance fees..
Enjoy sightseeing in Lima, Cusco, and experience the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Feel the magic and mysterious splendor of one of the world's most famous manmade wonders, Machu Picchu…the breathtaking Inca city atop the Andes Mountains. Your hosts are Lindsay Graham and Richard Gibbons.
