First Presbyterian Church

Youth Ministry (grades 6-12)

Here at First Presbyterian Church, we believe that the middle and high school years are a vital time for spiritual development in the lives of our students. It is a time when students have legitimate, real questions about life, who they are, and even their own faith. It is a time of searching for their own identity in society, finding where they fit in, and sorting out their beliefs. Some students truly thrive at this age, while others hold on for dear life.

The Roots Student Ministry objective is to show our students Christ and to teach them that through Him, we can find our identity, we can find our calling, and we can share that message with others. We encourage students to put down deep ROOTS to enable them to grow strong and flourish.

Our motto at Roots is “KNOW—GROW—GO.”
We have a passion for our students to KNOW Jesus Christ and to recognize the blessings of being a part of such a wonderful covenant community; we want them to GROW in their faith and mature into adulthood; and we want them to answer the call of the gospel, to take the message of Jesus with them wherever they GO. We accomplish these goals through solid teaching of God’s Word, a strong focus on building relationships, an emphasis on mission work, and having a blast while doing it all!
