ABOUT ROOTS STUDENT MINISTRY

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together.

Hebrews 10:24-25

Music & Worship Arts

At Roots Student Ministry we believe that the junior and senior high school years are a vital time for spiritual development in the lives of our students. It is a time when students have legitimate, real questions about life, who they are, and even their own faith. It is a time of searching for their own identity in society, finding where they fit in, and sorting out their beliefs. Some students truly thrive at this age, while others hold on for dear life.

The Roots Student Ministry objective is to show our students Christ and to teach them that through Him, we can find our identity, we can find our calling, and we can share that message with others. We encourage students to put down deep ROOTS to enable them to grow strong and flourish.

Get involved in Wednesday Night Activities; come to a Sunday Life Group in the Student Ministry area; sign up for the summer mission trip; participate in summer activities; support Junior or Senior High activities; sign up for the fall retreat.

Share your gifts as a Student Ministry Leader through mission and service activities, food prep and provision, creativity, activities, or adult leadership in Sunday School, Wednesday night classes, mission trips, local missions, discipleship, or being a small group leader.

Core Values of Roots

The Roots Student Ministry objective is to show our students Christ and to teach them that through Him, we can find our identity, we can find our calling, and we can share that message with others. We encourage students to put down deep ROOTS to enable them to grow strong and flourish.

  • Fellowship: gathering together to build each other up
  • Worship: showing honor and respect to God
  • Prayer: communicating with God
  • Discipleship: following and obeying God
  • Ministry: using one’s gifts to serve others
  • Evangelism: sharing the good news of Christ

Communication is key to the success of our youth outreach and programs. Please be sure to signup for our newsletter (Resources) and that the church has current email and home addresses for parents and students in your home. JUNIOR HIGH: Middle School

Sunday Morning - Youth Life Group:

9:30-10:30am in Room A106
Sunday mornings are held jointly with Senior High. During this time we will hang out together, play games (foosball, ping pong, air hockey, basketball) and then dive into Scripture together. This is a great opportunity for your student to become more equipped in unpacking the Word of God.

Wednesday Evenings during the school year:

5:45-7:15pm in Room A106
During this time each week, all of our middle schoolers come together to eat dinner ($5), hang out, and play all sorts of games before beginning our worship time. You can expect there to be high energy games, engaging teaching, and an emphasis on conversation with students rather than lecture.

Annual Junior High Events

  • Summer Mission Trip
  • Fall Retreat
  • Raft and Rail (early spring retreat with whitewater rafting)
  • Roots Mini Open (a mini golf tournament)
  • Various Special Events throughout the year. See Student Opportunities below for more details about current activities and registration.
